Transportation

Fayetteville is served by Interstate Highway 540 that runs from Bentonville in the north all the way to Fort Smith in the south. The interstate is currently in the planning stages of expansion to serve the sudden growth of the area in recent years.

The Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) in Highfill service all commercial passengers in the region. The airport provides nonstop service to several US cities and is currently planning a large expansion to meet the increase in the number of passengers emplanements per month.

Fayetteville Municipal Airport/Drake Field services the charter flights coming into the city.

UARK Razorback Transit is a free bus system that is centered around the University of Arkansas while the Ozark Regional Transit provides inter-city public transportation to the region's residents.

The City also has a large network of paved bicycle and walking trails as a non-motorized form of transportation. The City is proud to have over 26 miles of trails in total from its 20 trail routes. Future plans aim to expand the trail system by over 100 miles to connect the city's neighborhoods, parks, recreation, and shopping areas. The most popular trails include:

Walker Park Trail
Mud Creek Trail
Frisco Trail
Wilson Park Trail
Scull Creek Trail
Lake Fayetteville Park Trail
